NSW is the number one state in Australia for tourism. Fifty one percent of the 7.6 million international visitors to Australia visit NSW. International tourism to NSW was worth over $9.5 billion in 2016 and the spend was growing about five times faster than the domestic market. Inbound tourism is big business and vital to the visitor economy. Before you make the decision to enter into the inbound markets, you need to understand how inbound tourism works, know who is visiting Australia and ensure that your product is ‘export ready’.
The State Government has established a Regional Conferencing Unit within the Government’s tourism and major events agency, Destination NSW and have resourced the unit appropriately to deliver growth strategies and promotional plans to sell the benefits of meeting in Australia’s most geographically diverse State.
